Improv Jam Session | Beginner-Friendly Game Day

Improv Jam Session | Beginner-Friendly Game Day

Sun, Jun 14, 9:00 PM
From Have Fun Make Friends SF
4.9

Join us for a fun day of improv games! This is a free, beginner-friendly jam session (not a formal class). It will be our third time getting together and we’ll have 2 fabulous co-hosts. We also have some ideas how to make it a little less chaotic (thanks, Andrew!) As always, nobody is forced to participate but highly encouraged to jump in and play. **What to expect:** * Improv - short for improvisational theater - is a form of live performance where characters, dialogue, and scenes are created in the moment. * We’ll have a mix of warm-up games, learn about character development, physical comedy, and storytelling. * Depending on audience participation, we’re planning about an 1.5-2 hour session. **Where and when:** * Sunday, June 14th - meeting at 2:00pm, games start at 2:15pm. * William McKinley Monument in NoPa: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gSDmnZA9md6r5orU9 * We’re planning to use the space in front of the monument as our “stage”. If you’re still reading (whoo whoo), here is a Wiki rabbit hole about improv: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvisational_theatre Come play some games with us!

Pigeon First Aid & Companion Animal Care **Sunday\, June 14th \| 11am–2pm** Meet at the Powell Street BART Station, San Francisco Ever wanted to be a hero to pigeons and their animal neighbors—all in one afternoon? Join us for a hands-on day of compassion, learning, and real impact in the heart of SF. San Francisco’s pigeons often suffer from painful injuries caused by string, hair, and other debris tightly wrapped around their toes. These tiny hazards can lead to serious infections and even amputations. Together, we’ll gently rescue injured pigeons, remove the harmful materials, provide basic first aid, and release them safely back to their flocks. While we’re out on the streets, we’ll also be sharing food and toys for companion animals belonging to our unhoused neighbors—because care and kindness should extend to all animals, big and small. No experience necessary! We’ll provide all the training and supplies you’ll need. Just bring: Compassion Comfortable shoes A willingness to help animals who are often overlooked ARRIVE ON TIME! We’ll begin promptly at 11am with a brief about essential safety and training. If you arrive late, we will be out and about and hard to contact and find so please be on time. **RSVP via:** https://app.gistirl.com/event-details/a7aT7h7BxCAcV6zGJicd **Early Bird Discounts | More $ Later** Hi, I’m Rose. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I’ve spent time working in entertainment, teaching, and brand events. I’m passionate about connecting with new people, building meaningful relationships, and helping create strong community wherever I go. Freshly baked pastries, the buzz of vibrant produce stalls, and the easygoing weekend energy of Lake Merritt waiting just around the corner. Spend an hour in quick one-on-one rounds, then gather your favorite people and head straight into the market to pick up treats and walk by the water as a group. Get ready for an hour of real one-on-one conversations with fellow East Bay locals, smoothly paired up by the app so you always know exactly who you are talking to next. Then comes the best part: you get to pick your favorite people from the rounds and grab bites from the farmers market and stroll around Lake Merritt together. It all happens the same morning, with one shared plan and everyone heading out together. Just real conversation that turns into a real plan - with people you already vibe with. By the time you're walking along the lake with your market finds, you're with a crew of locals you actually know. Maybe this becomes your weekend market and lake stroll squad. Maybe it's just a great morning you'll remember. Either way, you're rolling with a crew. Agenda 11:00AM - Check-In Follow the link to complete a quick profile setup on your phone. 11:05AM - 12:25PM - One-on-One Rounds Our app pairs you for focused conversations. Find out who else in the East Bay shares your favorite market stalls and walking routes. 12:25PM+ - Form Groups & head into the farmers market for bites and then walk to Lake Merritt together Reconnect with your favorite matches, form groups of 4-6, and head into the farmers market for bites and then walk to Lake Merritt together. Your group leaves together - today. Don't just collect contacts. Actually grab market bites and stroll with new people and see if this becomes your regular crew for new weekend market spots and East Bay walking paths to explore. Want to stay in touch with someone? Use the app - it lets you connect without ever sharing your phone number. Here's a few recommendations: Tru Gourmet Dim Sum - This high-end stall is celebrated for its seasonal, organic handmade dumplings that often draw the market's longest lines. Cap'n Mike's Holy Smoke - A legendary stop for smoked fish lovers, famous for its lox-heavy sandwiches and incredibly fresh salmon candy. Roli Roti - Follow the aroma to find this rotisserie truck known for its juicy porchetta sandwiches and potatoes roasted in savory chicken drippings. Grand Lake Kitchen - Located directly across the street, this iconic deli is the perfect place to grab a Boichik bagel or a savory sandwich before hitting the lake path. Arizmendi Bakery - This worker-owned cooperative offers incredible daily sourdough pizza slices and artisanal pastries that are a local Saturday morning ritual. **RSVP via:** https://app.gistirl.com/event-details/a7aT7h7BxCAcV6zGJicd **Early Bird Discounts | More $ Later**
