**Beach to Beach to National Park Headland to Microwbrew & Food Truck?!?! Absolutely. Add whales!!!** Of course the Marrickville & Freshwater microwbrews are well known, but there are also a few down in Botany that we've not explored together. Let’s check it out for a cracker of a Sunday session. **THE HIKE. 11kms.** **Coogee Beach…** we all know it. It’s a beauty. We'll meet just by Coogee Pavilion at that huge chair in the grass - it's actually a sculpture called "The Impressionists' Seat"... hiking along beautiful Coogee Beach. South Coogee turns a bit more tranquil with gorgeous cliff views and crazy-beautiful homes. We’ll twist and turn to **Maroubra Rocks and Beach**… looooovely spots. The rockpool at Maroubra is one of the prettiest on the coast. To **Malabar Headland** we goooooooooo! I still haven't done it, and it looks a treat (it's only open the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month). Around to **Malabar Beach** then a 1km neighbourhood walk to the bus, and Beer Fontaine is close (if you have to leave after the hike, that’s understandable – it’s Sunday after all). **Beer Fontaine** is a lovely little spot, and they always have a food truck out front. Who doesn’t love a beer and food truck meal post-hike! A perfect Sunday Session. The 309 bus is close by and drops at Redfern. **[If you join, please come back here and jump into our whatsapp group by clicking on this link. It's a must to come to our events. Thanks!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Cu4EhCU1od24QGTtqr8cmj)** See you soon! MJ **THE OTHER STUFF** a) **Be on time.** If you’re late? Catch up. Please don't call, message. Just catch up. b) **$10** Cash or PayID. c) **Fitness matters here.** Sure, the pubs sound great, but we are hiking in National Park. Be prepared. d) **Honour your RSVP.** No shows get banned from the group. **I put my credit card down for a reservation – your reservation.** e) Bring mates, dates, etc... f) **[JOIN OUR WHATSAPP GROUP HERE](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Cu4EhCU1od24QGTtqr8cmj)** ***In pressing the “Attend” button for this hike, you acknowledge that:*** a) You are healthy and fit to complete the hike describe; b) You have read and will follow [NSW National Parks Bushwalking Safety Guidelines](https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/safety/bushwalking-safety) for this hike; c) You have no chronic / underlying health issues that deter you from completing this hike; d) You understand your host is just that – your host, not a professional hiker – and that you and you alone are responsible for your hiking health, safety, and wellness; e) You’ve been advised to download the “Emergency Plus App” and f) You’ve been advised to obtain individual [hiking insurance from 1Cover](https://www.1cover.com.au/adventure-travel-insurance/hiking-trekking/?utm_source=google&utm_source_platform=gads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=13564994076&utm_term=adventure%20travel%20insurance&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=13564994076&gbraid=0AAAAAD_bfRAu6Io5ZkHeiIYCP_evtsQ_z&gclid=CjwKCAjwz5nGBhBBEiwA-W6XRLm8Itjn1am8sdPMxVhBtRmsDOWkolLlVATJcXW5jW-9JgB7hb9kMhoC7M0QAvD_BwE). g) Over 60yrs old, and new to the group? Wet week ahead, sheez! Saturday looks lovely, so let’s let the National Park trails dry (we’re hiking **[Figure 8](https://www.meetup.com/hikewalktothebar/events/315238386/)** on Sunday if you’re keen) and head to the coast… whales, Labradors, beaches, and Saturday session that leads to a really cool bar. Have you been to **Totti's yet**? It's a damn good Italian restaurant by the Merivale team. My goodness their CBD location is packed 7 days a week lunch & dinner. Our hike doesn't finish there but rather **"The Royal Bondi"** which is a cool rock pub with a beautiful Italian Wine Garden out back... that's known as **Totti's Bondi**. The pub still has your normal pub classics, but you can also order [Totti's famous wood fired bread](https://www.broadsheet.com.au/sydney/food-and-drink/article/i-cant-stop-thinking-about-tottis-woodfired-bread) and some other items up front in the rock bar. You must try it. *A little advertisement too. This week we are 100% planning our* ***[BYRON BAY GETAWAY](https://www.meetup.com/hikewalktothebar/events/313405523/)****. Send me a note directly if you’re keen to join… 0439 635 699.* **THE HIKE.** Bondi to Coogee… you all know it. And if you don’t, or you’re new in town – get in here. ***Beach after beach: Bondi to Mackenzies Bay… Tamarama Beach to Bronte Beach. Up we go to Waverly Cemetary to Clovelly Beach, Gordon’s Bay, and Coogee Beach.*** We’ll need to move our bodies after a wet week, so let’s do a return journey! 12kms in total… some ups / downs, but it’s safe and paved the whole way. **THE START POINT.** I’m house / dogsitting all week in Bondi Beach. I’ll be looking after Labradors Tulip (white), Peppi (Fox Red), and Pablo the Chocolate Pup. If you love dogs like I do, let’s get your dog fix at the start, and off we go… if not? That’s cool – just enjoy the whale views at Mark’s Park for 5minutes while others have a pat before I return them home (it's right on our hike path). **[IF YOU JOIN THIS HIKE YOU MUST JOIN OUR WHATSAPP GROUP FOR THIS EVENT. CLICK HERE.](https://chat.whatsapp.com/FGl5sI6DhTC0BiBnenqY7Q)** **THE DETAILS.** I’ll fill this out later… $10 gratuity, and all the usual stuff. Let’s move with passion while perving, chatting, and sharing some stories. Beer after? Always. See you for a fun one! MJ

Join us for a massive **35km coastal challenge over Eastern Beaches** as we take on our unofficial attempt of the scenic 'Bloody Long Walk' (Sydney East route). Originally hosted by the Mito Foundation each November, we are tackling this spectacular coastal track our own way. This is a demanding, long-distance trek requiring high fitness and endurance, but the world-class ocean views are worth every step. For reference on the official event route, you can check here: [https://www.bloodylongwalk.com.au/lp/sydney-east/](https://www.bloodylongwalk.com.au/lp/sydney-east/) **Before you RSVP, be sure to read the full description:** * **Difficulty** **and Terrain:** Hard (for highly fit, experienced hikers only). Royal NP at its best! Waterfall to Loftus via Forest Walk, Palona Cave & Audley

Royal NP at its best! Waterfall to Loftus via Forest Walk, Palona Cave & Audley

From Aussie Explorers

**Are you looking for a bit of adventure? This might be the walk for you!** **We will start at Waterfall Train Station.** **From here we will follow the track to the Forest Walk, a shady track that makes its way around Forest Island. On our way, there is only one moderate climb and one creek crossing where we might get wet feet if there has been significant recent rain. Forest Island is a sheltered rainforest ecological environment with ferns, palms, mosses, and creek scenery to admire. At the end, we will have a break at the Palona Picnic Area.** **From here, we will make our way to Palona Cave. We will explore the cave, a large limestone overhang featuring columns, stalactites and a little waterfall (a bit of scrambling will probably be required if you’d like to explore the waterfall). We will have lunch here.** **Then we'll return to Lady Carrington Drive, which is the first scenic route to be built through the National Park. It follows the Hacking River and took 3 years to build, opening in 1886.** **This will take us to Audley, where there are toilets and a café. We will have another break here.** **There is no opportunity to exit the walk until we reach Audley.** **From Audley, we ascend the Honeymoon Track up to Rawson Parade Track then on to finish at Loftus Train Station.** **We will aim to finish by 3.30pm, from where we can catch a train back to Sydney.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: Around 20 km.** **GRADE: Medium, Grade 3.** **NOTE: Only get-out point is at Audley by Uber. Please let the Host know if you leave the walk.** **IMPORTANT INFORMATION:** · **Be Prepared: Wear comfortable hiking shoes, bring 2L of water (first refill at Audley) and dress for the weather. I would recommend hydralyte tablets, snacks, lunch and sun protection.** · **Follow Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Host at all times and keep the Host within sight.** **RSVP Responsibly and Be Ontime at the Designated Meeting Point: Update your RSVP if you can’t make it.** **GRATUITY: $10 applies to this event which can be paid in cash on the day or PayID is 0439 344987 Cristian Sylvestre.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISCLAIMER: Your health and safety is our priority and we take care to minimize risk and avoid accidents and injuries.** **However, Organizers and Hosts are not responsible for your health and safety and do not accept any liability for accidents and injuries that may occur during Meetup activities and events.
