Thursday Nature Walk - Lobos Valley Overlook (Presidio)

What: A 2.3 mile slow walk with 338 feet of elevation gain. When: Every Thursday at 5:30pm Where: Meet at the Lobos Valley Overlook (just up the hill from the 15th Avenue Presidio entrance) Who: Anyone is welcome! Why: Real life connection...to nature and to the community I live in.

Ocean Beach Stroll

The latest SF 55+ San Francisco Walking Group event takes place on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. at Java Beach at the Zoo Cafe, 2650 Sloat Boulevard, San Francisco. The route is to walk 3 blocks down Sloat Blvd. to the Upper Great Highway recreation path, continue walking until Judah Street and then turn around and go back to Java Beach. The walk varies between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Java Beach has a bathroom and there is also a public bathroom at Judah Street at the foot of the path at the halfway mark of the walk. The host is Weeming Yee, known as "Wee." **Rain Policy:** Rain cancels the walk **Dog Policy:** dog-friendly walk **Intensity:** Easy & Flat Walk 50 ft of elevation change **Route**: Up Ocean Beach and back **Restrooms:** Beginning (Java Beach on Sloat), Public restrooms every 3 blocks along the Great Hwy. **Distance:** 4 miles **Walk Talk:** Conversational **Pre-Walk**: no activities before walk **Post-Walk**: no activities after walk **Parking**: Parking is easy. **Grace Period:** 5 minutes **Running Late:** We'll walk to the Upper Great Highway and head North on the side path. Sunday 9a Walk McLaughlin Eastshore Park at the Berkeley Marina

COVID NOTE: Please be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masking is optional. Please arrive a bit early as we leave promptly at 9:00a. This is a 70 minute mostly level loop with options (some return halfway). We meet at the entrance gate on Marina Blvd (see map). Reminder: no dogs. Questions? Short Hike to Devil's Slide, followed by a picnic on the beach

\*\*REMINDER- This group is for people who are searching for a Chatbot-free lifestyle community.\*\*\*\*\*\* You're Invited!....Your chatbot is not. This trek offers history, nature, and maybe even mermaids! (As long as you keep your eyes peeled) We are going to be walking down the abandoned Highway 1- a wide open road directly on the Pacific coast that was closed permanently in 2014 and converted into the coolest walking trail in the whole damn Bay area! We'll make our way to Devil's slide and explore the Old Devil's Slide bunker (a former lookout point from World War 2). The trail is about 1.3 miles each way, so about 2.6 miles total. Very beginner-friendly way to get some fresh air and see breathtaking coastal views. After we hike....we picnic! We'll head over to Pacifica state beach and those of us who are brave enough will eat from the famous Taco Bell beach cantina. For everyone else, I will be bringing picnic snacks and playing cards Picnic contributions and blankets encouraged :) Come out and play! Let's go exploring. Monday 9am Pt. Isabel Walk - Richmond

COVID NOTE - Please be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masking is optional. We meet at the west side of the circular parking lot and take an 80 minute energizing walk. Some turn back halfway, for a 40 minute walk. Please show up a bit early as we leave promptly at 9:00 am. The walk has both paved and gravel trails. We walk about 20 minutes and pause at a bridge -- and some turn back. Weather permitting, some stay for coffee, etc., at a picnic table near the Sit & Stay Cafe (on the east side of the circular parking lot). Optional: arrive early for unsupervised stretching.
